Lyocell (Tencel) is a man-made cellulosic fibre produced from wood pulp, usually eucalyptus. It is made in a closed loop in which almost all of the solvent is recovered and reused. In its undyed form the fibre is biodegradable in soil. Fabrics made with this fibre are more absorbent than cotton and softer than silk.
